BORN TO FLY
This I-CLIP is a tribute to our product development in 2014, because "retro" has never actually existed with I-CLIP, as it was only invented with a fastener in 2015. We stand for the current time in the here and now and for modernity.
In 2014, however, we didn't yet have the idea of the snap fastener and one of our prototype designs was similar. We wanted to transfer the lightness of the I-CLIP and the love of "a little more cash" to aviation. At the time, I-CLIP wasn't even supposed to be called I-CLIP, but Pilot.
Fortunately, we came up with the idea of the beautiful snap fastener. Our trade fair salesperson/brand ambassador Thomas requested the special model Born to Fly because he wanted a special edition for the 2023 air show in Friedrichshafen.
Pilots love retro and so it was a welcome opportunity for the well-heeled aviation community to make a special I-CLIP for a little more cash and to close it with a retro style belt hole row. In many ways, this model also makes it complete with its play of colors of black and cream white, although of course the super-modern I-CLIP in the period from 1950 to 1970 with this design/typography did not yet exist.
